Finland (officially the Republic of Finland (Finnish: Suomen tasavalta, Swedish: Republiken Finland) is a sovereign state in Northern Europe. The country has land borders with Sweden to the northwest, Norway to the north, and Russia to the east. To the south is the Gulf of Finland with Estonia on the opposite side. Finland is a Nordic country and, together with Scandinavia, is situated in the geographical region of Fennoscandia.

핀란드(핀란드어: Suomi 수오미, 스웨덴어: Finland)는 북유럽에 있는 나라이다. 공식 명칭은 핀란드 공화국(핀란드어: Suomen Tasavalta 수오멘 타사발타[*], 스웨덴어: Republiken Finland 레푸블리켄 핀란드[*])이다. 서남쪽은 발트 해 남쪽은 핀란드 만을 통해 에스토니아와 가깝다. 서쪽은 보트니아 만 등의 바다로 둘러싸여 있고, 스웨덴과 노르웨이, 러시아와 국경이 닿아 있다. 동쪽은 러시아의 카렐리야 공화국와 인접해 있다. 본토 서남쪽에 위치한 올란드 제도는 핀란드 통치 아래서 상당한 자치를 누리고 있다. 다수의 국민은 우랄족의 핀란드인에 속한다. 공용어는 핀란드어와 스웨덴어이다. 2014년 기준으로 인구는 약 5백만명 이상이다.

눈은 기상 현상의 한 종류로 기온이 섭씨 0℃ 아래로 떨어져, 구름 안의 물입자나 대기 중의 수증기가 얼어서 결정화된 것이다. 남극·북극의 두터운 얼음층과 빙하는 오랜 기간 눈이 쌓여 형성되었다.
