The last few days of our time in Lofoten saw us visiting Reine; the stunning village with an epic. view that you've seen on every instagram shot of Norway. Then onwards to Å, the furthest west village on the archipelago. We took the ferry back to Bodø on the mainland and experienced the world's most powerful maelstrom at Saltstraumen. You won't believe the 20 knot currents that shoot through there.

Norway's coast road is difficult to describe. Every turn brings a new view with glaciers, mountains and fjords being just some of the highlights. One thing we weren't expecting was a beach that looked like it should have been on the Adriatic, with its crystal clear azure sea and soft white sand. The water was cold though, very cold.

We spent two years self converting our Mercedes Sprinter van into our little home on wheels. After some serious Arctic preparations, it's perfectly capable of taking us all the way to the far north, 300 miles into the Arctic and experiencing as low as -23 Celsius.
