Welcome to Svolvaer. It might be the biggest town on Northern Norway’s famous Lofoten islands, but Svolvaer is still a beautiful place. Surrounded by imposing mountains, islands and ocean, there is so much to see in this compact town: https://www.lifeinnorway.net/svolvaer-lofoten/

Today’s walk starts where most people arrive at the Hurtigruten terminal and continues on to the market square, along the waterfront and on to a harbour island packed with holiday cabins.

I recorded this video on a sweltering summer’s day during a heatwave that swept across much of Arctic Norway. Enjoy the walk.
