In December 2020 we started production from the first of 24 new wells in the Snorre Expansion Project (SEP) in the Norwegian North Sea. SEP is a 200-million-barrel subsea development tied in to the existing Snorre A platform, contributing to extending the field life through 2040 and securing jobs both offshore and onshore. The NOK 19.5 billion project was delivered with no serious personal injuries, ahead of schedule and about NOK 1 billion below cost estimate.
Main contractors/suppliers: Transocean, Halliburton, Aibel, TechnipFMC and Subsea 7.
The Snorre field partnership consists of: Equinor Energy AS (operator), Petoro AS, Vår Energi AS, Idemitsu Petroleum Norge and Wintershall Dea Norge AS.
