Our favourite places in Lofoten rated from least to most ???????????????? AND WHY…
We spent 4 weeks exploring the Lofoten Islands and there really is so much to see here - and as we still work whilst on the road, we didn’t have time to go everywhere…
But here are our favourite spots that we visited rated from least to most - and why ⬇️
9️⃣ Haukland and Vik beach - albeit they’re very pretty sandy beaches, it was super busy and chaotic to park
8️⃣ Henningsvær - there’s lots here from artisan shops to cafes and restaurants, but it was really busy and hard to park
7️⃣ Kvalvika beach - even in grey, cloudy weather this beach looked awesome, although it is about an hour hike to get there
6️⃣ Offersøykammen - another stunning hike but some parts of the trail are quite steep so wasn’t so fun coming back down at dusk
5️⃣ Reine, Hamnøy and Sakrisøya - there’s not a lot to do in this collection of fishing villages, but there are loads of picturesque viewpoints and photo opportunities - and all without having to hike up a mountain!
4️⃣ Ryten - another insane hike but it just was so cold and cloudy when we visited
3️⃣ Reinebringen - this is an epic hike and the views are breathtaking, but it also means its super popular and there was a lot of people at the top!
2️⃣ Gimsøysand - although the water was freezing, the sun was shining and the water was crystal clear - plus it was a really quiet
1️⃣ Mannen - this was the first hike we did in Lofoten, we had perfect sunset conditions and the views from the top were just magical… nothing could quite beat that first awe-inspiring experience ????
Which would you visit first!?
