Towards Nordkapp I was caught out in an Arctic winter storm. It became extremely windy and dangerous, sliding the van around on the ice and snow eventful night.
following my found footage style video for a very eventful night. I know I’m gonna get a lot of negative comments for this, mistakes happen. Forecast showed winds from a particular direction all night and gusts of up to 65 miles an hour which is not too bad. However late into the night the storm became surprisingly more powerful and the wind direction changed and that’s when it got a bit dangerous.
Seeing a 3500Kg Van being tossed around a car park is definitely quite interesting, being in that van whilst it’s happening he’s pretty terrifying!
This little event happened outside Honningsvåg in Northern Norway.
Even after I got a relative safety the storm wasn’t done yet with me and decided to throw fire extinguishers.
None of the events which happened last night would’ve changed if I had studded tyres or non-solid tyres. How’s the weather conditions had risen to 5° above zero and raining so any Ice had deteriorated and turned to slush.
Check out my cold weather & winter van life upgrade videos to see what changes I made to the van for this trip.
