The five-part film “People Of The Water” tells about the stories and destinies of fishermen. Who are they, fishermen? What do they dream about? What are they reading? What is the wisdom of their craft? To answer these questions, the film crew will travel to the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, Lake Baikal, and the Primorsky and Krasnodar territories.
Arkhangelsk. At the confluence of the Kedovka River into the icy White Sea, on a cape blown by the winds, is a lonely house. To the nearest settlement - the village of Koida, Mezen district of the Arkhangelsk region - 30 kilometers by sea. But the Arctic Circle is a couple of kilometers away. There is not a soul around, only wild animals and the White Sea rich in fish. From spring to late autumn, a small team of fishermen lives in this house, harvesting salmon and pink salmon. The season is almost over, there is not much left until the plan is worked out, but the weather at the beginning of September is variable. The direction of the wind will determine whether the fishermen have time to finish what they started.
