KV Bjørnøya is the second of three Norwegian coast guard vessels in the Jan Mayen class that replace the Nordkapp class built in the 1980’s.
The Jan Mayen class is constructed to accomodate helicopter, but currently has none. Seahawk helicopters expected to arrive in 2026 or 2027.
