It was an epic February trip. We started in Bergen in the rain — nothing to worry about in Bergen. In Ålesund and Trondheim, we enjoyed fabulous weather, and in the evening of day 3, we were already eyeing the first opportunity to see the Northern Lights. The clouds prevented a clear view. Despite the rain in Bodø and Tromsø, we didn't give up hope, but the Northern Lights remained hidden behind clouds. Over the next few days, we enjoyed the breathtaking scenery in fantastic weather but with cloudy evenings and hoped to finally see the Northern Lights on day 8, off Tromsø, at night. The sky only cleared for 30 seconds, but we didn't yet know what day layed ahead in Vesterålen and Lofoten. It was an epic day, sailing through the Raftsund in fabulous light. Beyond Svolvær, the moment finally arrived: a true explosion of the Northern Lights that brought us to tears. We spent the remaining days of the trip sailing along the coast in beautiful weather. The entire trip was a celebration!
