Atventurist Adventure series presents: Going to North Cape 2022.

Me and my cousin, we bought Honda CB500X model 2020 at summer 2020. Since then, we had a dream to drive up north, the northernmost point of continental Europe. It´s in Norway. Then COVID19 happened and we had a plan, that if we can´t go to Norway, we will at least drive to beautiful Lapland of Finland.

DAY 3

This time day started in northern Finland, Saariselkä. We slept night at hotel Star Arctic, which is a place in the top of hill called Kaunispää. Very nice view!

Unfortunately it started to rain just at the same time when we woke up. So we had to wait 2-3 hours before we started the trip to north.

It´s a very beautiful road from Saariselkä to north. We stopped at Ivalo city and ate some breakfast. Then driving the north and after Inari city, we turned right to east and drove Sevettijärventie (road Sevettijärvi) to Näätämö, which is a border village between Finland and Norway. We drove slowly after the rain to avoid getting wet.

We were pretty frozen when we arrived to Näätämö. We ate lunch there at hotel restaurant and then back to the cold weather and boldly towards Norway.

We visited "little Finland", a nice small village called Pykeija (Fin), Bugøynes (Nor). There is legendary Finnish sauna (called Jäämeren sauna), where you can get yourself heated and then go to swim to Ice sea. We were frozen, but the sauna was booked and we had to move forward.

This third day was about 360 km (225 miles). Temperature, maybe from 5-8 °C (41-46 °F)
