The Falls of Clyde was the first of eight ships all carrying the name of historic landmark waterfalls in Scotland, named after the current World Heritage Site in Lanark. Built by Russell & Co at their Bay Shipyard in Port Glasgow in 1878, she was designed as a bulk carrier. Currently based in Honolulu and listed as a U.S. National Landmark, she is the only remaining sail driven oil tanker in the world, and now remains the only surviving, four master iron hulled, Clyde built tall ship, that is still afloat.

This talk will be given by David O'Neill, a 'Gorbals' native and member of Falls of Clyde International. David lives in Glasgow and is now retired, but continues to work on many community benefit projects.

HMS Unicorn is providing this talk free of charge but our work is only made possible through your support. To donate to HMS Unicorn and the Unicorn Preservation Society, please visit www.justgiving.com/hmsunicorn.
