On September 26th, the Institute for Environment, Conservation, and Sustainability (IECS) proudly launched the Communicating Climate After Climate Denialism series with award-winning author John Vaillant (The Golden Spruce, The Tiger). Vaillant shared compelling insights from his latest book, Fire Weather, exploring the devastating Fort McMurray wildfires and their deep connections to our fossil-fueled world. Moderated by Adrienne Tanner, Editor-in-Chief of Canada's National Observer, this event examined the intersection of climate change and environmental disasters.

This series would not be possible without the invaluable partnership of The University of Toronto Scarborough, Cited Media, Harbinger, Another Story Bookshop, and Canada's National Observer.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors for their contributions to our speaker gift bags: Neighbourhood Coffee, Arc'teryx, Propeller Coffee, Yves Rocher, The Pen Shoppe, and Youtheory. Your support makes events like these possible and reflects our shared commitment to sustainability and climate action.
