Our adventure to Nordkapp started with a late-night landing at Honningsvåg airport. With limited taxi services, our amazing Airbnb hosts kindly picked us up in two cars due to our heavy luggage. As we arrived late and everything was closed, we enjoyed the ready-to-eat food we packed from Sydney while the kids eagerly watched out the window for the Northern Lights (unfortunately, dark clouds blocked the view). The next morning, we woke up to find snow piled up to the door! After navigating the icy roads, we managed to grab some groceries without falling—a big achievement! We then made our way to town to check if the road to Nordkapp was open. Feeling lucky, we found that it was, and we set off on the scenic, nerve-wracking drive through the tundra landscape. The strong winds made the drive unforgettable, but the views were absolutely stunning. Upon arriving at Nordkapp, we were greeted by a crowd of tourists from the cruise ships. We explored the famous monuments, including the iconic Globe Monument and the Children of the World Monument, and visited the Thai and Arctic Explorer museums in the visitor centre. As we were heading back, the sky turned a beautiful pink and orange, adding the perfect touch to our journey. Driving to the northernmost point of Europe was the highlight of our trip—a truly unforgettable experience!
