Lake Ontario:

Lake Ontario is one of the five Great Lakes of North America. It is the smallest and most easterly of all the Great Lakes. It is surrounded on the north, west, and southwest by the Canadian province of Ontario, and on the south and east by the American state of New York, whose water boundaries meet in the middle of the lake.

Lake Ontario is positioned at the base of the Niagara Falls. Ontario, Canada's most populous province, was named for the lake. An ice sheet covers the lake area on winter time and typically form along the shoreline, where the lake is not as deep. St. Lawrence River connects the lake to the Atlantic Ocean.
