This video highlights, what can only be described, as a SCANDAL.

As Backstory.ie's regular followers will know, Backstory.ie's journalism has been purely voluntary so far.

Most of Backstory.ie's work involves making publicly accessible archives that concern Defective Concrete easy to find and search as YouTube videos. Mostly videos from the Oireachtas.

I do my own transcriptions and usually have detailed timestamps making it easy to locate information pertinent to the viewer who does not have to scroll through what are 8 to 12 hour long videos that are downloadable from the Oireachtas website.

Of course Backstory.ie is only too pleased for other paid journalists and paid researchers to be informed by my very time-consuming work. However, in the same manner that I feel duty bound to credit sources from other media news sources, I expect other paid journalists to treat my work with the same respect.

All Backstory.ie asks is that if your work is informed from my hard work, that your would credit "Backstory.ie" in physical print journalism.

If your work is in any way digital (website, audio or video) I would ask that you create a link such that when you click on "Backstory.ie" you are directed to a web link to the video that you've used to inform your reporting or research.

My main goal for my journalism is to help owners of homes with Defective Concrete wherever they may be in Ireland.

However, I'm also feel privileged to say that the journalists Donal MacNamee from the Business Post and Mark Tighe follow me on X.com/Twitter - which journalists routinely use to find stories.

Backstory.ie also finds it interesting that some staff at the Market Surveillance Office and also some politicians follow Backstory.ie.

Unfortunately, Backstory.ie cannot continue doing this journalism in a voluntary capacity and I hope to create some means of being able to accept donations in the near future.
