????❄️ WHEN TO GO?
I would recommend the summer months. From May to July you can enjoy the midnight sun and it doesn’t get dark at all. Avoid the peak season with lots of tourists in July and August.
???????? WHERE TO STAY?
Norway is great for traveling by campervan due to the so called “Allemannsretten“. On the Lofoten Islands, however, parking is rather limited, especially in the peak travel season, which is why I can also recommend renting a cute little cabin and exploring the area from there by car. Leknes and the surrounding area are best suited for this, as you can reach all the highlights quickly from there.
???????? WHAT TO DO?
My favorite hikes in the Lofoten Islands were: Reinebringen (super popular), Ryten/ Kvalvika beach, Offersøykammen and Mannen. For more information check out my two posts about it!
The most beautiful beaches for me were definitely Haukland and Vik beach!
Be sure to visit the small fishing village of Reine in the south of Lofoten.
Also go on an exploration tour yourself! Especially further north in Lofoten, there are still many quiet corners such as Eggum or Gimsøya!
✈️⛴️ HOW TO GET THERE?
You can reach Lofoten by ferry from the mainland or by land from the north. You can also fly to Leknes or Svolvaer.
